FAQ
Can SiC heating elements work in nitrogen?
Yes, SiC heating elements can be reviewed for nitrogen atmospheres, but there is an important limit: above 1400℃, nitrogen may react with SiC and form silicon nitride, which can make the element fragile and shorten service life.
For nitrogen service, keep furnace temperature below 1300℃ where possible and use low surface loading. Include the nitrogen condition, target temperature and element dimensions in the RFQ.
