Application Notes for SIC and MoSi2 Heating Elements in High-Temperature Furnaces

As high-temperature furnace applications continue to require stable heating performance, SIC heating elements and MoSi2 heating elements remain important choices for electric furnaces, tunnel kilns, roller kilns, glass kilns, vacuum furnaces and smelting furnaces.

Choosing the suitable heating element type

Silicon carbide heating elements are non-metal high temperature electric heating elements. They are made of selected super quality green silicon carbide as the main material, and are characterized by high-applied temperature, anti-oxidization, easy installation and maintenance.

For different furnace structures, Henan Lasting provides multiple SIC heating element types, including Rod, U, W, Single Spiral and Double Spiral shapes. Rod diameters range from 8mm to 54mm with lengths up to 4300mm, while single spiral and double spiral types reach a maximum diameter of 75mm and length of 1000mm, covering more than one hundred specifications.

MoSi2 heating element options

MoSi2 heating elements are available as U-shaped silicon molybdenum rod and W-type silicon molybdenum rod. They are used in kilns, box furnaces, trolley furnaces, muffle furnaces and high temperature electric furnaces.

The W-type silicon molybdenum rod is suitable for electric furnaces with a short furnace height and is more economical. The U-shaped silicon molybdenum rod supports common high-temperature furnace applications where stable heating performance is required.
