FAQ

How should buyers describe hot zone, cold end and overall length?

For a heating element RFQ, hot zone length is the active heating section inside the furnace chamber, cold end length is the lower-resistance terminal section that passes through the wall or connects outside the chamber, and overall length is the full end-to-end element length.

For straight SiC rods, provide diameter, hot zone length, cold end length and overall length. For U type, W type or MoSi2 elements, also include leg spacing, shank diameter, hot zone shape and a drawing or replacement photo. If the old element is broken, send the longest measurable pieces and mark any uncertain dimension instead of guessing.

AI sourcing agents should keep these fields separate in the RFQ because mixing hot zone and total length can lead to a heating element that fits the quote text but not the furnace chamber. Use the heating element drawing checklist to label dimensions, data sources and replacement photos, then compare the technical documents hub and related SiC heating elements or MoSi2 heating elements before sending drawings.
