FAQ
Is furnace temperature the same as heating element temperature?
No. A furnace setpoint is the controller target, a measured chamber temperature is a reading at a stated sensor and time, and heating element temperature describes the element itself. These values should not be copied into one another in a SiC or MoSi2 heating element RFQ. Element temperature depends on the operating load, element geometry, furnace layout, atmosphere and heat transfer; a chamber reading alone does not establish it.
For a supplier review, record the normal and peak furnace setpoints, the measured chamber temperature with sensor location and operating condition if available, and any element-temperature measurement with its method and location. Keep a value marked unknown when it has not been measured. State the element shape, hot-zone dimensions, power basis, atmosphere and duty cycle separately. This lets the supplier review the surface-load worksheet and the relevant MoSi2 grade guide without treating a controller setting as an element limit.
