What Information Is Needed for a Custom Heating Element Quote?

A custom heating element quote becomes faster and more accurate when the RFQ includes enough technical detail from the beginning. For overseas furnace builders, kiln operators and maintenance buyers, the key is to describe the furnace need, not only the product name.

This checklist applies to custom silicon carbide heating elements, MoSi2 heating elements and special furnace replacement projects where the element shape, dimensions or electrical data need review.

Start with the furnace application

Before comparing product types, define the furnace application, working temperature, duty cycle and atmosphere. A tunnel kiln, roller kiln, muffle furnace, box furnace or vacuum furnace may need different element shapes, surface loading and installation accessories.

For projects where the existing element is non-standard, review the custom furnace heating elements guide and prepare photos or drawings that show the hot zone, cold ends and terminal connection area.

Technical details to include in the RFQ

  • Heating element material: SiC, MoSi2 or uncertain replacement material.
  • Element shape: straight rod, DB, ED, U type, W type, SG, SGR or a custom drawing.
  • Dimensions: diameter, hot zone length, cold end length, total length and terminal space.
  • Electrical data: resistance, voltage, power, current and series or parallel grouping.
  • Furnace conditions: working temperature, atmosphere, duty cycle and heated material.

Choose the closest product family
